I’ve always enjoyed eating at Logan’s Roadhouse. The food is usually solid, and the atmosphere makes for a good casual meal. So, while traveling through Athens, Alabama, I figured it would be a safe bet for a quick, familiar stop. Despite reading some pretty subpar reviews online, we decided to give this location a chance anyway. Unfortunately, the experience lived up to the reviews—and not in a good way. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all—maybe two tables were occupied and a few people were sitting at the bar. Still, it took almost five minutes before anyone even noticed we were standing at the host stand. Once seated, it was nearly another 10 minutes before we were even asked about drinks. Then we were told they were out of fries, corn, green beans, and something else I can’t remember. Things a major chain should never run out of. While waiting was frustrating, we were still optimistic things would turn around. Our food did come out relatively fast, but that’s where things went downhill. We both ordered burgers, well-done, but they arrived medium rare at best. The buns were cold, and the burgers themselves were barely warm—like they were just put on the grill flipped and put on the bun. Even our baked potatoes were cool to the tough. We sent them back, and to her credit, our waitress was very apologetic and friendly throughout. By the time the food was corrected and brought back out, we were the only diners left and the time we waited on correct food was nearly an hour. What surprised me most was the complete lack of acknowledgment from the manager. The manager walked past our table twice without saying a word—not a hello, making eye contact, not an apology, nothing. No discount, no courtesy check-in. It felt like we were invisible. As much as I like Logan’s, this location has some serious improvements to make in both food quality and management attention. Until then, I’ll be skipping this one on future trips to Panama.

I was quite surprised to learn that Raven was a recent hire. She was the epitome of Southern hospitality. After my friend and had been driving for over eight hours from from Indianapolis with a trailer and a 26 U-Haul she was a breath of fresh air. The food shr recommended was served hot and delicious. If you are near Athens on i-65 stop and ask for Raven. Tell her Mary and Nick sent you. You will feel like you came home. I’m so grateful to becoming a new RESIDENT of Alabama if people like Raven are an example of Alabama down home folks. How soon will I learn to say “Y’all?”

Wow! What a pleasant surprise at Athens Logan’s.We were met at the door with a smile and great welcome as four of us were escorted to our table and told let me know if I can do anything to make your visit special, your server will be with be with you shortly. She was and she was fantastic. Food was HOT and delicious, salads fresh and the rolls Devine. The next day we had company come into town and the six of us went back to Logan’s. Again the service and food was excellent. Lucky us got the same waitress! Hats off to the hard working kitchen, staff and leadership. Well done, we will be back soon. P.S. beer battered fish is also five star.

I called, ordered while traveling, arrive exactly 25 min later as stated to be ready. They needed another 15 minutes then surprise, an extra $8 per person for takeout. The manager was rude and she did not care that menu price was quoted. The bag had No: Butter, Utensils, Bread and the cut of Ribeye was very disappointing. All of the women upfront were clueless and did not care about their job. Not a place I'll visit again

When you do an online order and they give you a pickup time, it’s reasonable to expect it to be 5-10 minutes within the given pickup time. Not 30-35 minutes after you arrive to pickup. I am confident they hadn’t even started my order when I arrived! After waiting 20 minutes I received my food order and was told they are making the tea. 10 minutes later I asked about the tea. After a visit to the back she said they are making it! I told her never mind and left with my food. We used to think Logan’s was one of the best restaurants in Athens. That was years ago. They need a complete overhaul in management! We will not be back. Can’t wait for Texas Roadhouse to open.
