Deeply disappointing and unacceptable behavior from the West Hollywood Building and Safety Department. We’ve experienced consistent obstruction, delays, and disrespect throughout what should have been a simple, straightforward permit process. Staff have demonstrated an alarming lack of professionalism — from dismissive attitudes to shifting requirements and refusal to provide clear guidance. Even more concerning is the inconsistent treatment we’ve observed toward different applicants, raising serious questions about bias and discriminatory practices within the department. We have been documenting every step of this process in detail — and will be making it publicly available soon to expose the abuse, negligence, and discriminatory treatment that taxpayers are subjected to. This isn’t just bad service — it’s a failure of duty, and we will be pursuing this matter at the state level to ensure accountability and systemic reform. No one ever answers the phone and you must leave a voicemail. You can not request an inspection through their website unless you were the one who originally pulled the permit. This doesn't work when contractors pull permits and the field team needs to schedule inspections. Please have someone available to answer the phone. Its the most basic service you can provide...

If i could put a negative number, it would be a -3. I have lived here for over 22 years and have seen the decline in the city. When i first moved, the said it was going to be a small village feeling. That no large chains would be allowed, like 5 guys burgers or like McDonald's. They would not build high density buildings, and they would protect the residents. By keeping the rents low and helping them from being bullied by landlords. Well, all that i guess has gone by the wayside. They only think about the almighty tax dollar and the kick backs. It was a great place to live. Thouse where the days. If you would like to see the videos of United Property, changing the locks of my apartment without the sheriff being there. please refer to my review of untied property do you see a sheriff in place in the videos or see them driving away? Plan Check Service with a Smile. From the moment I pulled up to the parking area, to the front lobby to the service at the counter was nothing but friendly, helpful employees. Joe was the examiner helping me. A few things I needed to correct for my team's application, I was able to call my team & get the answers for him. Super great considering they have signs all over the place to refrain from using your phone at counter. There are other people here for other plan checks & each of them are very nice, informative & helpful. Hoping for an approval sooner than later to make it sweeter.

Trying to get a hold of someone is a joke here . If there was anywhere in California to point where some of the major problems are it’s here in the city of West Hollywood. Bureaucratic tyrants disguised as loving understanding beings . Disgusting leadership at its finest .

Need to definitely minimize the road improvements during rush hours and special events.. It's causing chaos and road rage for people trying to get to work on time.. This city is busy regardless and road closures during award show preparations is understandable but adding road work aswell during rush hour (0700- 1000) makes these streets a parking lot..

This city is getting worse and worse with crime and hopelessness and is pushing companies out with the new $19.08 minimum wage. But go woke and pretend everything is fine.
