While we visited when a few of the buildings are still under reconstruction since the hurricane, we enjoyed walking around the village and seeing what we could! The volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to learn about the history of this charming island!

A cool experience tucked away into the corner of the island. The Sanibel Historical Museum was a charming trip into the past, as we learned about the first settlers on the island and the buildings they used to frequent. In my visit I was joined by a lovely guide that was knowledgeable of the area and each building. When I come back next year with some friends, we'll definitely pass through here again.

I thought it was very interesting the tour was a good. I find learning about history this way is so much more interesting then anything I ever learned in school. They give you a good understanding of the conditions there how the island was settled and they had a number of historical buildings. I thought it was quite good.

I have had the great fortune of living in this area for 26 years and visiting Sanibel Island for just as many. It's hard to believe that this is hidden in the corner of this island. What a great piece of history we have here in SW Florida. Nestled on the beautiful island of Sanibel is a treasured piece of the past. Lovingly place in a natural setting so that you can become immersed in some of the history of this beautiful island. This place was perfect to learn, veiw and appreciate some of my areas past. If you are new to the area or have decided to move down and be part of our wonderful or Southwest Florida please take a moment to stop here.
